YOUTH HOUSING:

Coldest Night of the Year: Join our team to promote awareness and raise money for homelessness in Regina.   By raising the $25,000 goal we will have raised over $500,000 for youth homelessness and built 2 homes for youth.  http://coldestnightoftheyear.org/partner/yfcregina

On Saturday February 25, 2012 we are hosting a fundraising run/walk (2.5km, 5km, or 10km) for youth homelessness in Regina.  We are hoping to raise $25,000 toward our Uturn Home but we need your help. Please contact Byron Toth at yfcbyron@gmail.com

Uturn: Transitional Home for youth ages 16-18- moving youth to independence.

New Build: The 2 basement suites development will start Feb 1 2012.  Our funding from Service Canada should be in place Feb 1, 2012.  We hope to open March 31, 2012 with the 2 basement suites open June 1, 2012.

Moose Jaw:  The heat seems to be working better since we had the plumbers in.  Continue to pray for “E” as they build relationships with the house parents.

Regina: We had a new youth move in today.  Please pray for a smooth transition as he settles in.

Jedidiah House: A home for youth 12-16 in the communities of Regina and The Battlefords.

Regina: Over the past couple of weeks we have had youth transition out and some new youth joining us.  Please pray for Cam and his team as they provide leadership to these young men.

The Battlefords: Please pray for the team as they work with “C”.  This young man needs to know he is valuable to God and our team.  Please pray as we continue to look to hire a casual staff in Battleford.


COMMUNITY PROGRAMS
:

Lamb’s Boxing Club: We are seeing 15-25 at risk youth training at the boxing club 2 nights a week.  One young man is asking many questions about God and is really seeking.

The Match:  On February 24, 2012.  We are working with Aline ministries and Souls Harbour to do a youth outreach.  Lamb’s Boxing

Lamb’s Drop-In:

Mondays are sports drop in- we had over 30 youth involved on Monday.

Wednesdays we will be teaching the  “Hero’s Program”.

SCHOOL PROGRAMS:

Switchback- discipleship Community: This month Jimmy and his team are challenging youth in the areas of relationships.   If you are interested in getting involved contact Jimmy at jimmyschimmel@hotmail.com

Dimension4- D4 is our noon hour school program.  Currently we are meeting at Thom High school on a weekly basis.  Please pray for our team as we connect with youth in need of positive mentors in their lives.

Gymblast: Our school assembly program focus to teaching youth about making good choices and cooperation.

Careers/ Volunteer Positions:

Regina Houseparents:  We are looking for 2-3 sets of house parents to bring love and support to young men and women in our Uturn homes starting April 1, 2012.  We are looking for spiritually mature couples (without children in the home) to be full-time House Parents and 2 couples to provide weekend respite.  Training is provided. Moose Jaw Youth Worker:  We are looking for a part-time youth worker to mentor youth in our Uturn Home.  If you are interested please contact wes@yfcsask.com

Talent Coordinator: Regina YFC is seeking an organized and energetic person to help our team recruit, screen and develop YFC staff and volunteers.  A background in Human resources and some experience would be helpful.  For more information contact: james@yfcsask.com
